Australian Bush Ballads in Voki
Posted by Lois on April 26, 2011
My students were collaborating with another school in Edmodo while studying Australian Bush Ballads. I have found that this is not a topic that students usually find interesting but using Edmodo and web 2.0 tools to share their studies made the topic quite dynamic.
Students were interested in understanding the ballads and performing them for their audience in another school.
The following film is one of the first examples of the work the students did in Voki. We have discovered that students can use Voki without signing up for an account (I don’t like students signing up for accounts to tools at school) so long as they finish their work within the session. They pre-record their audio, create the Voki, upload the audio, and then grab the embed code. This method means that they cannot save their work so I’ve used screen captures and iMovie to share their Voki’s on this blog.
